Creation process

The search for the perfect piece of wood

At the beginning of a Leo Prinz Natural Hair Brush there is always the selection of the perfect piece of wood. We pay particular attention to finding suitable pieces of existing wood in order to reduce waste and have to cut down fewer new trees. Some comes from recycling small pieces of furniture, accessories and tools. Such pieces have high quality and beautiful grains due to their age and storage. With maple Kebony wood, an organic finishing process is added, which makes the wood less susceptible to moisture and gives it a denser feel.

The brush shape is created

Next, the rough processing begins. The unique brush body is now taken out of a solid piece of wood. In the next step, the fine edges are milled using special tools. At the end comes the finishing touches. This can sometimes only be done manually by specialists.

Refining the brush shape

After thorough cleaning, the brush bodies are carefully painted and dried in several layers. This finishing process makes the brush surface smooth and sealed. This leads to significantly better protection against moisture, which makes the brush ideal for use in environments such as the bathroom.

Each hair type gets an individual pattern

The individual Leo Prinz patterns are engraved into the brush body using a precision laser.

The individual patterns ensure the unique Leo Prinz design and also represent different structures that can also be found in the hair types.

A unity is created between wild boar bristles and brush body

The wooden handle and the high-quality wild boar bristles now create a real Leo Prinz wild boar bristle brush.

Depending on the brush model, different numbers of holes are milled into the brush body. Each bundle of bristles, which has been carefully sorted beforehand, is then anchored individually.

This process takes place entirely by hand on the Professional (hand-fed) models. It can only be carried out by a few specialists with years of training. Here even the tools required for this are specially made by hand.

The use of material is minimal and the bristles have the same orientation as the wooden shape, which was modeled on the shape of the head.

Manual post-processing

The next step is the individually tailored completion process. The bristle field is checked for either straightness or thinning. Imperfection in thinning may appear to be flawed at first glance. The function behind it, however, is a desired unevenness that can better deal with individual diversity in the hair.

Final inspection

Protruding bristles are cut off and checked for defects. They are then packaged and sent directly to you.
