Hand-inserted bristles
Hand-inserted brushes represent the absolute pinnacle of hairbrushes. They are specially designed for thicker hair. Hand-inserted means that each tuft of bristles is anchored to the brush body by hand with a wire. This makes the bristles significantly more resilient and prevents them from falling out. This craftsmanship requires years of training and is mastered by only a few people. The result, however, is a brush quality that is unparalleled.
I'm keeping this hairbrush. 👏

You can clean the brush with a normal comb or the Leo Prinz comb. Simply run it through the bristle area several times and push out hair and lint.
For intensive cleaning, you can rinse the brush under running water every four to six weeks with a natural hand soap or a natural cosmetic shampoo.
Make sure to place the brush with the bristles facing downwards so that the water can drip down and not get caught in the brush. You can find detailed instructions in our blog post .

Some people are afraid that brushing will cause them to lose their beautiful curls because it straightens their hair.
Basically, split ends, dry hair and small injuries to the hair structure strengthen the curls. When brushing with the Natural Hair Brush, these areas are touched up and nourished. This can mean that you have to twist the hair again after brushing to revive the curl structure.
In the end, you're definitely doing your hair a favor and you'll definitely get more beautiful hair after regular use.

Our Natural Hair Brush is made exclusively from materials that are naturally antistatic. Why can a static charge still occur?
In most cases this has to do with your hair care products. This can be a silicone-based shampoo or conditioner or styling products such as hairspray.
When brushing, the synthetic particles are rubbed between the bristles and hair, which then creates a static charge. In most cases the connection harmonizes after a few days.
We therefore always recommend the use of natural cosmetic products without silicones. If you want to speed up the process, washing the brush with your natural cosmetic shampoo or soap can help.
Please follow our instructions for cleaning the brush, as described in our blog post .

Boar bristles care for and repair the hair structure in a unique way. They have a microscopically fine scale structure and are therefore the only bristle material able to absorb excess fat (sebum) and release it into dry areas in the hair. With regular brushing, they seal the hair structure and can therefore repair and prevent brittle hair (split ends).

Our wild boar bristles come primarily from wild boars in the Indian and Chinese high mountains.
Just as other animals change their fur throughout the year, wild boars shed their bristles between seasons. The discarded bristles are then collected and selected, cleaned and further processed for brush processing. Additional bristles are collected as a byproduct of meat processing. The animals are not killed for their bristles.
In order to comply with EU regulations on the import of products of animal origin, the bristles are subsequently cleaned and prepared accordingly.
We always work with our suppliers to make the procurement process even more transparent. -
Occasionally, bristles may break or fall out. Since the boar bristles are inserted into the brush body completely naturally and without chemical adhesives, it can occasionally happen that bristles fall out. This is completely normal and does not mean that the brush has lost all its bristles. If your brush loses an unusually large number of bristles, please write to us. We will then find a solution together.
Why are boar bristle brushes good for hair?
Wild boar bristles are unique in their properties for the hair. They are the only bristle material that can absorb and release fats.
This property was designed so intelligently by nature that only excess fat is absorbed by the scalp and hairline and released again in undernourished areas, such as the ends of the hair.
If you brush your hair regularly, the bristles clean the hair, supply it with valuable nutrients and repair the hair structure. This combination of these properties can only be achieved by wild boar bristles. Find out more in our blog post “Of Lions and Lambs”

The story behind Leo Prinz and what makes us who we are
Hello, I'm Julian – the founder of the Leo Prinz brand.
The idea for Leo Prinz actually originated in my childhood, even though I didn't know it at the time. My grandmother had beautiful, shiny hair – right up until old age.
Their secret?
An old boar bristle brush and what she affectionately called the "Emperor's hairstyle." Whenever I visited her, she showed me how to brush my hair properly so it would stay healthy and shine from within. Those moments have stayed with me to this day.
Years later, after founding my company JUCOM Consulting, I asked myself: Why is this traditional hair care so rare these days? Why do most brushes look like plastic toys? That's how the idea for Leo Prinz was born – high-quality hairbrushes from the Black Forest that combine traditional knowledge with modern design.
